P.F. CHANG’S CHINA BISTRO TO JOIN ROYAL HAWAIIAN SHOPPING CENTER
Honolulu – Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center’s revitalization momentum continues with the announcement of P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, slated to open in late summer 2007. The restaurant will occupy more than 11,000 square feet on two floors with customer seating of 375 and will be the second largest restaurant in the company’s 136-unit chain. P.F. Chang’s plans to employ approximately 250 employees at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center location.
P.F. Chang’s will occupy a prominent two-story location at Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center on the corner of Kaläkaua Avenue and Lewers Street. The restaurant will be designed with a unique architectural style that combines P.F. Chang’s upscale image with a Hawaiian sense of place and will feature open-air lanais on both the ground and second floors of its restaurant. Each P.F. Chang’s is unique and blends classic Chinese design with a modern bistro look using slate, wood and metal combined with rich earth tone fabrics and dramatic lights to create a stunning visual effect.
“Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center will be P.F. Chang’s only Waikïkï location,” said Rosalind Schurgin, principal of the Festival Companies, developer of the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. “P.F. Chang’s will join current Center powerhouse restaurants such as The Cheesecake Factory, Restaurant Suntory and new venues including Señor Frog’s restaurant and bar which will be its first and only Hawai‘i location.
“The P.F. Chang’s brand mixes a unique combination of contemporary and traditional Chinese offerings. One of the primary revitalization objectives that we had for the Center was to be ‘Famous for food’, with a special emphasis on offering choices that appeal to both kama’aina and visitors,” said Susan Todani, director of Development and Planning for Kamehameha Schools, the owner of Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center.
The P.F. Chang’s dining experience provides guests with consistently outstanding Chinese cuisine, attentive and personal service, and an inviting dining environment with a moderately priced menu featuring entrees priced between $8.95 and $15.95.
P. F Chang’s menu focuses on select dishes crated to capture the distinct flavors and styles of the five major culinary regions of China: Canton, Hunan, Mongolia, Shanghai and Szechwan. Working in a dramatic exhibition kitchen, PF. Chang’s chefs use Mandarin style wok cooking to prepare the dynamic menu. Using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients, and no MSG, they create made-to-order lightly sauced dishes that allow natural flavors to emerge and stimulate the senses.
PFC Hawaii, LLC, a newly formed joint venture with P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Inc., is the exclusive licensee for the state of Hawaii. For more information, visit HYPERLINK "http://www.pfchangshawaii.com" www.pfchangshawaii.com.
